A very recent step by step, focused on the grayscale construction of the image.

It portraits "El Pipila", a mexican semi-indian superhero with highly heroic deeds dated early XIX. He carried a huge stone on his back, avoiding bullet-death, then torching the gates to some fort. The Fort. Fact or fiction-- who cares. It's our culture. I found some speedy inspiration in mexican "muralistas".
